Many patients are embarrassed about their feet. Here are a selection of foot pictures showing a range of conditions that we treat.

Verruca
This patient has a large cluster of verrucae that have been present for some years.
Treatment: Debridement of skin and a series of combined acids to the skin over several treatments.

Verruca
A single verruca on the sole of the foot.
Treatment: Dermafreeze

Involuted and infected toenail
This patient has a curved nail that has dug in and caused an infection in the side of the skin.
Treatment: Cut the nail back and clear infection

Multiple seed corns on heel
This patient has many ‘seed’corns (heloma millaire) around the heel of their foot. They are caused by pressure, dryness and the folds of the skin/fat pad.
Treatment: The overlying yellow callus can be removed/debrided then the individual corns can be gently scored and eased out. A water file can be used to assist.

Neglected corn
This patient has developed a corn on the sole of their foot caused by pressure. It has been ignored for over a year and has increased in size and protrudes out from the skin. The skin has formed a hard ‘stone’ of skin making it very sore to walk.
Treatment: Despite the appearance the approach to removal is the same as smaller corns. The top is cut away and since the skin is dead causes no pain. The corn is then eased out. This may be sore so the water file is used and repeat visits required over the next few weeks to remove it fully.

moccosain foot
This patient has developed a fungal infection of tinea pedis. Often mistaken as dry skin or eczema. The name of this type of infection stems from the affect to the border of the feet.
Treatment: Appropriate creams are prescribed to apply all over the feet twice daily. The infection is usually resolved within the month and skin returning to normal.

Onychauxis
This patient had a nail biopsy to test for fungus. This is an unusual test (instead of clippings). The nail is thickened primarily and the result of the fungal test was negative.
Treatment: The nail is thinned. The biopsy hole comes away as the thickness reduced. Pedique applied for cosmetic improvement. The nail will always grow thickened.

damaged nail
The nail is narrowed due to previous surgery for ingrown nails. It has also developed a fungal infection with the yellow discolouration.
Treatment: The nail can be filed and thinned too shape. Any fungus treated with topical anti fungal nail lacquers though this has a low success rate. The nail is usually covered with varnish or Pedique in the summer.
